Mother's Day!!

For Mother's Day we always stay home and have a relaxing day. This year I decided I wanted to do something else. So off to Timpanogos Cave we went. We have never been there so it was a great adventure to go on. You have to hike 1 1/2 miles to the cave entrance & then you get to go through 3 different caves on a hour long tour. You go through Henry's Cave 1st, then you go through an underground tunnel to the Middle Cave, then another underground tunnel to Timpanogos Cave. It was a great hike with great views. It took about an hour to get all the way to the top. Inside the cave it is only 45 degrees but it was so interesting you don't even notice. After the cave tour we weren't ready to go home so we made a day off it and went to Tibble Fork Reservoir for another hike. The kids had great fun throwing rocks into the river while Mike & I just watched. What a great Mother's Day we all had!!

A Trip Home

Finally after almost 20 yrs I made it back home. I was able to go to St. Anthony, ID back to my Grandparents house. It was just a quick day trip but it was worth it! John my brother in law bought a truck up in Island Park and we had to go past St. Anthony to get there. I had Mike drop me off at Grandpa & Grandma Bowles's House. Then Mike & John went to pick up the truck.

I was able to see Grandma, Grandpa, Carmen, Eddy, Mom, Al, Brittney, Cahlin, Eyan, Aunt Sara, Uncle Barri, & their family.

It was such a good time. When Mike & John came back we all had dinner and all the way home Mike & John kept saying how good my Grandma's meatloaf is. It was so good to be there hopefully I will be able to go more often.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAYNE!!

On April 30, 1999 we become the proud parent of our 1st son, Shayne. He was 7lbs 11oz and 20 inches long he was born at 4:05 am. He was the happiest baby ever, never crying and always so content. The poor guy was born with a black eye due to sitting right on my pelvic bone. Shayne was born with a speech disability and was unable to make proper sounds. So he created his own language that only Kayla could understand. He has always been so calm and understanding when trying to over come it. He is so hard working and I have never seen a child so focus on doing his absolute best at everything he tries (even taking my bathroom sink faucet apart at 3yrs old trying to understand how it worked). Shayne loves anything that has to do with volcanoes, earth quakes, hurricanes, planets, and the earth. He is also the catcher on his baseball team. He has been catching for 2 yrs now and is doing such an awesome job. Happy Birthday Shayne!! We are so very proud of you and love you so very much!! Happy Birthday buddy!

Friday the 13th

The kids came home from school on friday and they all had stories about how bad friday the 13th has been. They all had a day full a scrapes, bumps, and bruises. Then they all said how next month they are not going to go to school when friday the 13th comes around again. Well Shayne was playing with his Uncle John, Shayne would sneak up and shoot John with his nurf gun. John decided the next time Shayne was sneaking up on him he would throw a plastic cup at the wall to scare him.
As you can see John missed the wall and tagged Shayne instead. He was bleeding badly and the cut was very deep so off to the emergancy room we go. The doctor said the the cut went all the way to his skull. They had to put stitches inside the cut to close up the membrane that covers the skull then 6 stitches on the outside to close up the cut.
Shayne was so good during the whole thing the only thing that gave his nerves away was the fact he was shaking the whole time. We are so glad that Shayne is ok. He even had a smile for me after his stitches.
Let's hope the next Friday the 13th is a less eventful one!

Back to Work

Well after christmas and new years it sometimes can be hard to get back into the swing of things. The kids think it should just be a long vacation until the end of the year and that just doesn't work. We just had parent teacher conf. and over all the kids are doing great. Other then a little food fight in the cafateria that Kayla decided to start! A boy in her class decided to make fun of her for the past few days. So friday at lunch Kayla was tired of it so she took her hot dog bun and stuck it to his face. The boys in her class then started throwing all of their food. So now Kayla gets to clean the lunch room for the next few days. The boys are doing great Stanley was going to speach therapy twice a week but he was doing so well they moved it to once a week. Shayne was awarded student of the month he was so happy.

Well I have been on light duty since my accident and I was finally released back to full duty on Feb. 2nd. My hand is coming along but the doctor says we wont know what it will look like for at least a year. Here is a pic of what it looked like a week after surgery.
It is coming along I now only have to wear a little bandage over the open part. I have full movement in my hand and about 90 percent in my wrist I still have to go the physical therapy. I am only going once a week now the therapist said I was doing great. I took a pic to post today my hand is a little shiny I put some lotion on it right before I decided to take the picture.
I will try to post a little sooner next time without my month gap!
